OLAC GROUP OF SEVEN OUTDOOR EXHIBIT

Oxtongue Lake Community Centre

3971 Highway 60, Oxtongue Lake

Oxtongue Lake for Arts and Culture (OLAC) is a local, non-profit, organization that celebrates and highlights the historic and ongoing?connection of art, community and the beautiful environment of Oxtongue Lake. Formed in 2013, OLAC is dedicated to researching and promoting Oxtongue Lake's connection with famed Canadian painter Tom?Thomson and members of the Group of Seven. These artists were greatly inspired by the landscape of Oxtongue Lake and the nearby Oxtongue River.  OLAC installed the Group of Seven Outdoor Exhibit at the community centre and helped produce Bob Hilscher's documentary, Painting the Wilderness of the Oxtongue. OLAC's ongoing project is to install interpretive placards at vistas painted by Canada's legendary painters.
