AUTHOR

Algonquin Highlands  resident Douglas Tindal is one of three winners of the first SPARC  playwriting contest (Supporting Performing Arts in Rural and Remote  Communities). The three plays, which were required to be no more than  ten minutes and explore a rural theme, will be read at the 2024 SPARC  Symposium, Reigniting the Spark, on Saturday, May 25 in Minto Township (Palmerston). Doug's winning entry, Morning Ride, features a mother and daughter in a pickup truck, on route to an early morning hockey practice. He is the author of Tales from Wine on the Porch, a collection of interlinked short stories. His earlier ten-minute play, A Wolf at the Oasis, was selected for the 2019 InspiraTO Festival. Doug Tindal is a cofounder of Oakview Coliving on Little Hawk Lake.
