Artist Inspiration
Audrey Hepburn once stated, “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” My painting is called “Faith”, and though, that could be the little girls name, it is more about the the faith that there is a future for us. That there will be renewal in all living things.
Renewal is faith. To plant a seed and have faith that seed will become food to nourish us. So for me this painting is about having faith in the renewal of seed, the renewal of life, the renewal in faith.
Artist Bio
I am retired registered nurse. We have cottaged here since 1986. We have been in love with Minden Hills since we were both teenagers. Our dream was to have our cottage become our forever home and we are now living that dream.
I have been paining as a hobby for thirty years but became serious in the last ten years after retirement. I have taken courses at The Haliburton School of Art and Design every summer for those thirty year. I paint twice a week at Boathouse Studio on Little Boshkung Lake here in Minden Hills, where I continue to learn and grow as an artist.

HISTORY
For over half a century, the Bishop family have welcomed guests from near and far to enjoy a quintessential Canadian winter activity amidst the splendour of the Haliburton Highlands. Then, 10 years ago, Sir Sam’s opened it’s doors to a new activity and a new crowd with the arrival of mountain biking to the facility.
Today, Sir Sam’s ranks as Ontario’s oldest second-oldest family-owned ski hill. This impressive legacy is matched by the number of families who count parents, grandparents or great-grandparents as guests in those early days. While the faces, the technology, and the calendar may change, the welcoming atmosphere lives on. Sir Sam’s continues to introduce and captivate new families with the joys of skiing and snowboarding.
