Artist Inspiration
The painting shows a view from the Heritage Trail at the Barnum Nature Reserve, April 2021. The title “Beckoning” implies the beckoning of spring, a mood of change and promise. Also, spring 2021 was a time when we started to hope that covid, maybe, was getting under control, beckoning change and hope.
Artist Bio
I moved to the Haliburton Highlands in 1999 after a career in teaching in Toronto. Over the years I received art education from courses at OAC (OCAD) and Fleming, workshops and painting in artists’ studios.I enjoy sketching and painting with inks, watercolours, acrylics and oils. Oil painting has been my new challenge during covid, continuing to be a learning experience. I paint the world around me from photographs and “plein air”.
