Artist Inspiration

Renewal – an instance of resuming an activity or state after an interruption…
This painting called Kids Play captures the moment where memories are made and renewed every summer. We missed it last year, but we’ve got it back this summer.
The whiff of “cottage air’.
The cool water on that first jump into the lake.
The first card game of the year.
The visit of family you haven’t seen for a year.
The laughter.
The feel of sunshine.
This composition captures renewal to me. We can hear the splash. It refreshes us. It makes us remember. It makes us smile. It makes us happy. It brings back great memories and renews our spirits.

Artist Bio

Living in Irondale, Ontario, Jacqueline Kimberly Morin is a self-taught artist who has played with acrylic paint and brushes all her life. She loves working with her hands. Her passion truly lies in 'The Art of Creating'.
Since launching her full-time career as an artist in 2018, Jacqueline has participated in various juried shows, including the Society of Canadian Artists. Her first paddle creation was published in a magazine article. This was the inspirational event that kicked her artistic career forward.
Her subject matter and medium may vary since she paints what attracts her eye and makes her smile. To spark her creativity, she captures life through the lens of her camera and collaborates with other artists.

Artist Statement

My paintings are inspired by an image that triggers an emotion; a look or a scene that brings back memories. What I aim to capture in my painting is that feeling or mood. I may work each section of a painting two or three times until I feel I have achieved the desired detail. This process evolves over several days and sometimes even weeks. Once completed, I like to give it time to do its thing and grab my attention. My subject matter does vary since each is selected to evoke a sense of warmth and joy!
My motto: To create beautiful things that bring back great memories and evoke a sense of joy
