About the event

Railroad Days in  Haliburton County, the third presentation of our Community Heritage  Series, will take place at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre on Thursday,  July 11, at 5:00 PM. Our guest speaker Janet Trull  will share her research on the early settlers of Haliburton County and  the impact of the newly built railway line. In 1878, against all odds,  the first train arrived at Haliburton Station and changed the lives of  the early settlers.  Inspired by the development  of the Northern Townships, Janet wrote her historical novel End of the  Line (2023). Admission is by donation. No pre-registration is required.
