Time & Location

Sep 26, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Abbey Gardens, 1012 Garden Gate Dr, Haliburton, ON K0M 1S0, Canada

About the event

Join local artist and author Janet Trull for an immersive field journaling hike where guests learn together, connect through creativity, and deepen their relationship with the natural world. Through sketching and written reflection, participants will explore the Abbey Gardens trails and discover how journaling can enhance any hiking experience.

The program begins at 10:00 a.m. at the outdoor seating area behind the Food Hub.

The experience culminates in an intimate seasonal farm-to-table community meal, thoughtfully curated by the Abbey Gardens team and shared together on the porch.

Please bring a journal and a writing tool — thin Sharpies are recommended.

Please note: Forest terrain is often uneven, with roots, rocks, and gentle slopes. Sturdy walking or hiking shoes are essential, and walking poles are welcome. If you have any mobility concerns, feel free to reach out in advance to discuss whether this walk will be comfortable for you.
