The Minden Hills Cultural Centre will host a free screening of And We Knew How to Dance: Women in World War I (1993) on Thursday, March 5 at 1:00 PM. The documentary tells the stories of 12 Canadian women who worked in munitions factories and on farms during the First World War, stepping into roles traditionally held by men. Through their own memories, the film explores how their labour, courage, and determination helped reshape women’s lives and opportunities in postwar Canada. Presented in collaboration with the Haliburton County Public Library, this screening is open to all ages. Admission is free. No pre-registration is required.
