About the event
Join us Saturday, June 24th from 11am – 3pm for our first annual Solstice Festival celebrating the summer season! Enjoy live performances with a kids concert by musician Miranda Currie, and don’t miss the headlining performance Branche – Acting For Climate, an interactive performance art group! Check out our artisan vendors and the farm stand by our Garden Team as we celebrate our first harvest of the season. Hit up our food station or Into The Blue pizza truck for lunch, then visit the hard lemonade stand for a seasonal treat (or just a refreshing mocktail!). Explore our children’s activities (Activity Passport required, information below) and of course check out what’s new and fresh at the Food Hub!
Activity Passport $10/passport
The performances, pony selfies, and vendors are all admission by donation, but children activities require an Activity Passport. Activity Passports include the following activities, including admission and supplies:
- Nature Scramble – a scavenger hunt worksheet that uses clues around the event area to unscramble a secret message and win a prize (a tree sapling you can take home and plant!)
- Local Taste Sesnsations – a garden experience where you can taste the flavours grown in our own garden
- Planting Station – create a paper pot and plant a sunflower seed to take home, plus one to plant in the sunflower maze at Abbey Gardens!
- Craft Station – learn how to make a wildflower seed bomb, one to take home and one to launch in the Little Pit at 2:30pm!
