Artist Inspiration

The Reid House - A Haliburton Heritage Home was painted on site "en plein air". The home was built in 1882 by the Reid family and was originally situated in Haliburton village centre. After two generations it was sold in 1967 to the Haliburton Rotary Club to create a local museum. A few years later, it was relocated to its current site at Glebe park and restored to a period home. Renewal is born from the need to replace or repair something worn out or broken and the Reid house inspired a historic example of many renewals through the years.

Artist Bio

Rossana Dewey was born in Toronto and grew up with broad creative interests and enjoyed experimenting with various mediums. Today, she works out of her studio in Haliburton, Ontario working primarily in oils. She began painting after attending Sheridan College’s Continuing Education Fine Arts program. She later went on to further her studies at the Dundas Valley School of Art to pursue her interest in perceptual painting. She prefers to paint observations of everyday life and selects subjects that have a personal meaning that reflect her thoughts and perceptions. Rossana works continuously to improve her skills and hopes to make paintings that express a vision that is distinctly her own.
