Bookapalooza is a tradeshow event to attract local Readers and Writers from Haliburton County, as well as from Muskoka, Durham Region, Bancroft, and other nearby areas. It is a family event for all ages. It is an event to represent the community of which we are so proud.
Sponsored by Haliburton Reads & Writes and The Arts Council Haliburton Highlands in partnership with the Haliburton Lions Club, Haliburton County Public Library, and Hike Haliburton, it is funded in-part by the Haliburton County Development Corporation.
Bookapalooza will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2002, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We believe there are many readers and writers amongst the individuals and families who will participate in Hike Haliburton scheduled for that same weekend.
Some of the planned events of the day are local author readings, a workshop in turning family history into a novel, a performance by Rural Rogues, and others still in the works.
We anticipate exhibitors will include publishers, other industry pros, authors, songwriters and vendors of gifts and products generally related to reading and writing.
Table rental for the day is $20 for a full table and $10 for a half table. Please see the attached application form for more details.
